Brief Research Description 

Prof. Pirisi’s main research interests are focused on innovation in the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of liver diseases.

• Non-invasive evaluation of patients with chronic liver disease, with specific regard to the prediction of development of portal hypertension and hepatocellular carcinoma

• Mechanisms of metabolic-associated steatotic liver disease

• Modulators of Hepatitis B virus-mediated liver disease

• Prognostic indicators in hepatocellular carcinoma at its various stages

• Sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection

He is principal investigator in several multicenter international phase II and III trials in the field of Hepatology.
