RIGAMONTI Cristina
Research Activity
Brief Research Description
Her research activity is focused on chronic liver diseases, particularly on progression of liver fibrosis and prognosis of autoimmune liver diseases (autoimmune hepatitis and primary biliary cholangitis) according to distinct pattern of clinical, laboratory and histological features at presentation and during follow-up.
As a Member of the “European Reference Network on Rare Hepatological Disease (ERN-RARE-LIVER)” she’s involved in the international multicenter study aimed at assessing the clinical presentation, treatment, and outcome of adult patients with a new diagnosis of autoimmune hepatitis in Europe.
As a Member of “Italian Registry of Primary Biliary Cholangitis” she collaborates in several studies regarding clinical and genomic aspects of primary biliary cholangitis, including the use of artificial intelligence in the histological diagnosis and prognosis of primary biliary cholangitis.
Research activity is also associated with the application of non-invasive techniques such as vibration-controlled transient elastography for predicting outcomes and complications of chronic liver diseases, such as clinically significant portal hypertension.
